Return of The Real Japan MeetUp! - Tokyo in December

The Real Japan Meetup 2019 Kobe Rob Dyer

The legendary The Real Japan MeetUps are returning!

Prior to the pandemic, the intention was to have an annual meet up in a different location somewhere in Japan every year.

We had two very successful ones: in Osaka in 2018 and Kobe in 2019.

Then COVID, which knocked us back a bit. But now, were back!

I'm still finalising the location and the exact date, but if you're in Japan in December and would like to join us for a few drinks and maybe a bite to eat, then the 2024 The Real Japan MeetUp will be in Tokyo!

Date will either be Friday the 13th (uh oh!) or maybe Saturday 12th of December 2024. We're currently in discussions with a few venues to find somewhere suitable that's also very central.

MeetUps are a relaxed chance for members of The Real Japan community to meet each other, me (of course!) and my wife, maybe some friends of The Real Japan and contributors.

Previous attendees established firm friendships at earlier MeetUps - which is great to see.

All previous events have been free to attend - just buy your own drinks and any food if you want to eat. The plan is to offer free entry again this year.

Oh, and everyone attending has the chance to win The Real Japan Goodie Bag - packed with an exciting (and useful) selection of Japan travel-related goodies - plus a tasty snack or two!

As soon as the arrangements are confirmed I'll be sharing the details with you. In the meantime, check out the photos and videos from the previous TRJ MeetUps here:

Travel Planning Services Availability Update

Japan travel planning services banner The Real Japan Rob Dyer

Two of my Travel Planning Services are temporarily unavailable. They are the 30 minute Travel Planning Calls and the 1 Week Travel Planning Support services.

I limit the number of service clients I take on at any one time so that all clients get the optimum service from me as possible. This means I sometimes have to restrict access to some (or all) of my personal services.

My 45 and 60 minute Travel Planning Calls and my 1 and 3 Month Travel Planning Support, plus all my Concierge services, are currently still available.

The period from November through to March every year is my busiest period for my Travel Planning Services. That means availability during those months is likely to become even more restricted or unavailable entirely.

This also overlaps with a 3 month trip my wife and I will be taking across Japan - further restricting my availability.

If you're thinking of using one of my services, it is possible to reserve your service now for use at a later date, so you can relax now, knowing you have access to me when you need my help.
