Overview of your Hiroshima tour:

After three decades in Hiroshima, I remain captivated by its architecture, history, and people's stories. I'm eager to share my insights with visitors through a 4-hour city tour. We'll explore key sights and themes including peace, history, resilience, culture, traditions, heritage, local products, and natural beauty.

The tour is customizable based on your interests and walking pace. We can include rest stops, meals, and drinks as desired. My fee covers guiding, translation, and my personal expenses (transportation, entry fees, food, and drink).

Your Hiroshima tour itinerary

• Meet at your hotel (or Hiroshima station)
• Visit 1-4 of the sacred mountains shrines and temples (1 hour)
• Visit the stunning Zen gardens Shukkei-en (1 hour)
• Enjoy Japanese sweets and tea (+ 30 minutes)
• Walk through the Hiroshima castle & Shrine grounds (1 hour)
• Walk to Hiroshima peace park via the central shopping areas to give an overview of the city (30 minutes)
• Enjoy a coffee or light meal (+ 1 hour) / option: take a taxi, tram or sightseeing bus
• Walk through Hiroshima's heart "Peace Park": A-bomb dome + meaningful monuments along the peace line (1 hour) - the tour ends at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum where I recommend going through on your own using an audio guide- it is a powerful and personal experience.

NOTE: order, length of each visit and destinations will depend on the weather, walking speed, interests of group. I prioritise guest safety & personalised experience.

Transportation Details

Type: Walking

If you enjoy walking and the weather is fine, we can do this tour entirely on foot which is enjoyable and you can get a good feel for the city this way. Rental bicycles are another option (1500/DAY) Hiroshima has great transportation options, so if the conditions are not optimal, we can use a bus, tram or taxi to reduce our walking time. The cost of transportation is minimal between 100~300 yen per person per ride. If you have a JR Rail pass, you will be able to use the sightseeing bus for free. Taxis are around 1000 yen per ride per taxi in the city center. Private car hire can be done if booked by guests prior to your tour (ask me for a recommendation taxi co link).
