A walking historical tour
Join me for a day in Kyoto that combines both the “postcard” points of the city with some true hidden gems. This tour will give you an overview to build on for deeper exploration.
Starting from your hotel (within Kyoto city) some of the main sites we will visit:
- Shimogamo Shrine, a peaceful forest sanctuary and one of Kyoto’s oldest Shinto sites
- The iconic and historic Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion
- Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, often visited by students praying for academic blessings
- Kamishichiken geisha district to hear stories of Kyoto’s geiko and maiko and the traditions that still shape the city today
- Depending on timing, we may visit additional locations.
