Grey, Grizzled and Gaijin
On his blog, Grey, Grizzled and Gaijin, Craig muses on expat life, travel and Japanese food – from his home in Kansai.
What I particularly like about Craig’s musings on Japan is that he doesn’t sugar coat everything. He is happy to call it as it is – warts and all. The ups and downs of work and daily life here.
So, in that sense, he too focuses on The Real Japan via the reality of actually living here.
But it isn’t all doom and gloom!
He’s also very positive when it comes to the countless exceptional things about the country too; and incredibly supportive of those online who promote awareness of Japan in all its variety.
Lifting People Up In 2018
He also makes an effort to showcase writers, bloggers, and other people with dreams. His “Lifting People Up In 2018” series showcases the best and brightest content creators in and outside Japan.
For example, in a recent blog post entitled Great Blogs About Japan You Must Follow, he featured just 6 Japan blogs he is a big fan of and wanted to highlight to his followers – and I’m honoured that he chose to include The Real Japan.
What’s more, he generously awarded us his “Certificate of Awesome”! Thanks Craig!
In his comments about The Real Japan, Craig says: “Tons of picture and written content on travel in Japan. The blog goes beyond the major sites. It is a super, super, super way to get the inside scoop on traveling in Japan. Awesome!”

Craig has recently published his second novel, The ‘Moore’ We Forget, the coming of age story of three sisters, which is available on Amazon.
